As we travel along Things are getting rough It ain't always easy To know who to trust We disagree About so many things But we've got each other And that's enough There are days We choke on dust Bus needs repair There's so much rust To see down the road Ain't always easy But we've got each other And that's enough The air grows cold The mist rolls in We have landed Flat on our backs Feeling so low Like a cat scratching tin But we can't forget What we have When the Sky falls We will be crushed But there is a reason We won't give up Some people think That we're insane But we've got each other And that's enough We've got each other And that's enough

We all look for confirmation Even if it's from ourselves We stretch our shrinking circumstance It's not just a war in our heads * We expose our private lives & faces burn    Disturbed by what we've seen We surrender again and again Benevolence, prayer, & charity We are reaching out for love To be held and know it's real To give our time and our hearts More than a morning meal  * We expose our private lives & faces burn    Disturbed by what we've seen We surrender again and again Benevolence, prayer, & charity We fall walkin' We fall down We walk through fearful fields Wolves howl & lions leap When offered shelter we receive Now we drink from flowing streams * We expose our private lives & faces burn    Disturbed by what we've seen We surrender again and again Benevolence, prayer, & charity we fall walking, we fall down

I’ve gotten to the point That I always said I’d be Yet each day I wake up To find how much I need *I’m somewhere between Lethal & Legal I seek pleasure Encourage others do the same Come on inside Or simply have a taste *I’m somewhere between Lethal & Legal I expect the best But fear the worst This ladder I’m climbing Never offers rest It takes me to the stars When I come back down I wish I could reach zero But it’s nowhere to be found It’s been killing me So many times before I’m more numb than scared I collapse upon the floor  *I’m somewhere between Lethal & Legal *I’m somewhere between Lethal & Legal

I get in the shower to wash away the lies the water's warm but I feel like ice I want to be famous but not to be known I want to be loved but be left alone * There's a way – that appears so pure there's a way that seems well reasoned there's a way that appeals to my pride there's a way to destruction all of my ways feel so innocent when every rule I follow is a rule I've bent when I'm sick I want to get well I ask who's to blame must be somebody else  * There's a way – that appears so pure there's a way that seems well reasoned there's a way that appeals to my pride there's a way to destruction By the light of day and the stealth of night I keep doing what I think is right My world's collapsing but all the while I just keep following my own advice  * There's a way – that appears so pure there's a way that seems well reasoned there's a way that appeals to my pride there's a way to destruction

The Circle 03:10
The first circle Love Those Who Believe as you do Within your tribe Who agree with your truth Then a larger circle The second circle Love those Who aren't like you Who believe in other things And follow different rules Then a larger circle The third circle Love those Who are your enemies Pray for those who wish you harm Get down on your knees There's no one left Outside the circle Outside the circle There's no one left Outside the circle Outside the circle

Expectations 04:34
* You said so much So many expectations I thought you'd be there Have you left Are you only hiding I thought you'd be there It's more than heartache More than abandonment Foundation's turned to dust It's more than just depression * You said so much So many expectations I thought you'd be there Have you left Are you only hiding I thought you'd be there We were so tight I was never afraid Now all that's left are echoes That don't fade away * You said so much So many expectations I thought you'd be there Have you left Are you only hiding I thought you'd be there No one owns their part So everyone's to blame The world's disintegrating How can this be contained? * You said so much So many expectations I thought you'd be there Have you left Are you only hiding I thought you'd be there Let your yes be yes Let your no be no No distracting fancy language No holy words for show * You said so much So many expectations I thought you'd be there Have you left Are you only hiding I thought you'd be there So many expectations

She told me – She needed Some time to herself She wouldn’t – blame me If I found someone else I told her – I would not Go out tonight I need - to be thinking So I’ll set time aside * But she’s gone All the same she’s gone She claimed – she was busy With a bad attitude She released – any vows N’ hoped I understood * But she’s gone All the same she’s gone There’s hurt and miscues There’s something more Lying neath the surface One claw on the shore We’re afraid to face it Afraid to call it’s name We feel so uncertain So we hide in our caves I feel I – can’t count on her To be either in or out I don’t want  to – make a decision That would push her off my cloud * But she’s gone All the same she’s gone She’s gone – Gone Gone Gone Gone

My identity does not depend on my intellectual assurance.  There’s been times I look around me and see the things I don’t know this gives me pause when I want to speak about things of substance. I’m not sure why it is I am emotionally wired I want to be full of knowledge about the subject of the moment. But when I get a chance to reflect it’s easier to see what I don’t know, I couldn’t possibly know all there is about any particular subject let alone how an action will ripple throughout life When I remember Once I get a chance to reflect, I it makes it easier to know I’m not all that I’m not all that

No one’s ever changed my mind Or impressed me much over time By defining who they're not In the end there's not a lot …. left Building walls by definition Forgets about details How people are pushed aside Kept outside the gate * If we're all siloed. How are we together We need bridges --- not walls Community investment Into bridges pays Extending needed love Then do it again & again We are the resources to build the path To transform this world I'll buy into that * If we're all siloed. How are we together We need bridges --- not walls To sustain development There's a need to create Not just good intentions We need to participate * If we're all siloed. How are we together We need bridges --- not walls Bridges not walls, not Silos

It's been a long day Like I've been in a fight the same tomorrow can't sleep at night my baby knows how to rescue me she tastes like coffee & feels like TNT She has been with me for a long long time she's a strong woman helps keep me in line she knows all about how to please me she tastes like coffee feels like TNT * Tastes like coffee – feels like TNT When I'm down on my knees, she makes me believe She tastes like coffee – feels like TNT Sometimes I'll reach out to hold her tight she tells me that it feels so right It's easy to tell when my baby's pleased she tastes like coffee feels like TNT * Tastes like coffee – feels like TNT

I want to tell you What I know and what I feel What I discovered Is as strong as gravity It is so basic Just like oxygen As touch is to feel Or light to vision * Say it simple Mean it deep You know I love you But now I've said it too It's more than just three words More than an attitude * Say it simple Mean it deep This heart is more Than a brochure Or just a door To step through * Say it simple Mean it deep

When the trolls come Just looking for a little entertainment They want my investment To be as complete as they can make it. * When I sink into their holes They've accomplished all their goals But with tomorrow comes the sun When the trolls come They'll play the part Anyone, any time, any place If they catch my attention I've fallen for their plan  *   I get suckered in  Now and again So I'm praying  Not to get played  *

There's only so much----- I can breathe in There's only so much------ I could blame on them There's only so much--------- preparation There's only so much----------- real training We spent moments We spent hours sharing with each other looking to the future each step took us further the path still unsure There's only so much-------- we'd imagined There's only so much ------ we'd call in There's only so much--------- room on our island There's only so much--------- time we would give our imaginations grew as we sat our on the roof staring at the sky saying what's the use the lights of the city swept away the stars did they fall when they came loose There's only so much ------- touching skin There's only so much------- before we'd begin There's only so much---------- and we would forget There's only so much --------before we'd pretend we'd imagine dreams were real this is the way we'd always feel the obscure will be revealed there's nothing we could not heal and if there was too much heat together we would leave this town There’s only so many … lies I can believe And so many myths … to be abandoned so much… space between us left There's only so much … hunger I can ignore There’s only so much … heartless compassion only so much … blood in these veins only so many signs … appear in the night sky There’s only so much … wild constraint There’s only so much … war we can survive There’s only so much … waiting for justice How many … times will be the last straw How is there … purpose without reason

about

Over the last six months, Ed (in MI) sent his songs to Producer Tim Ripley (in MD), where Tim added his expertise in creating the feel of the music. He played melodic keyboards, clever FX, actually emotional drums, and sang spine-tingling background vocals to dish up the tastiest Ed music.
He and Ed work marvelous music together, but it didn't take six months for nothing. Work, teamwork, is the operative word. Tim and Ed shot these song files back and forth like a volleyball, tweeking, arranging, disagreeing and coming together, until it was perfect.
Finally, Tim mixed and mastered the finished product
